Dr. James W. Overton

Dr. Jim Overton is a native of Salisbury, NC and a graduate of Davidson College. After serving in the Navy, he attended The UNC School of Dentistry, graduating in 1974. He opened his practice in Wilmington in 1974. Dr. Jim is a member of The American Dental Association, The NC Dental Society, and The Wilmington Tri County Dental Society. He currently serves as president of The Eastern Prosthetic Study Club. His interests include restorative and prosthetic dentistry, implant restorations, and porcelain crowns. Outside the office, Dr. Jim enjoys boating and woodworking.

Dr. John A. Overton

Dr. John A Overton grew up in Chattanooga, TN where he attended The Baylor School. He continued his education at Clemson University earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating from Clemson in 2000, John moved to WrightsvilIe Beach to accept a job with Corning Inc, as a Manufacturing Engineer. In the fall of 2002, and wth a career change towards Dentistry in mind, John began taking classes at UNCW and was subsequently accepted to the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry, Cass of 2008. John was recipient of several awards while attending UT including the Dean's Award for Senior Leadership and The Chancellor's Student Service Award. He is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, Wilmington Dental Society, American Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Educaton Assocation, and Port City Study Club. His clinical interests include implant dentistry, both surgical and restorative aspects,CEREC dentistry (all porcelin restorations in one office visit), veneers, and comprehensive care. Outside of dentistry, John enjoys salling, cycling, running, and playing his drums.
